Chamonix lift pass: Le Pass or Mont-Blanc Unlimited, 2026-2027 prices and where to buy

Two passes shape the valley: Chamonix Le Pass for the Chamonix ski areas, the Mont-Blanc Unlimited for everything else. What each one covers, what they cost depending on the period, how to pay less, and their refund rules.

Chamonix lift pass: Le Pass or Mont-Blanc Unlimited, 2026-2027 prices and where to buy

In Chamonix, you choose the lift pass before the ski area. Two products shape the valley: Chamonix Le Pass, for the Chamonix ski areas, and the much wider Mont-Blanc Unlimited. Prices are dynamic: the same pass costs a different amount depending on the ski date, the purchase date and the sales channel.

This page compares the two, gives the published price lists for 2026-2027, and explains how to pay less without buying the wrong product. Choosing a ski area for your level is in our guide to skiing in Chamonix.

Each number is the lift base of a ski area, with the altitude it covers: choose your pass by the areas you will actually reach.

No ski area links to another on skis: each number is a lift base, reached by bus, train or on foot

Our tip: Count the real ski days, not the nights: a seven-night week rarely gives more than five or six days on the slopes, and the pass should be chosen on that number.

Chamonix Le Pass or Mont-Blanc Unlimited: what does each cover?

Illustration: skier going through a hands-free lift gate, lift pass card in his jacket pocket, at the base of a Chamonix gondola

Chamonix Le Pass covers the Chamonix ski areas: Brévent-Flégère, Grands Montets and Balme-Vallorcine. It does not cover Les Houches-Saint-Gervais, which sells its own pass, and the product page states that it excludes the top of Les Grands Montets, announced as closed this season.

The Mont-Blanc Unlimited is presented as covering 10 ski areas, 4 excursion sites and skiing in 3 countries. It includes the valley's ski areas, from Les Houches to Balme, the Aiguille du Midi and the Mer de Glace, and depending on conditions Megève, Saint-Gervais, Les Contamines, the Portes du Mont-Blanc, Courmayeur and the Skyway in Italy, and Verbier and Crans-Montana in Switzerland.

Be careful with this list for a short pass: for the season pass, several partner areas require a one-off activation at the ticket office. Nothing says that every extension is included in each one to six-day pass. Read the conditions of the exact product.

How much does Chamonix Le Pass cost in 2026-2027?

The published price list has three periods:

The categories: adult from 15 to 64, reduced rate from 5 to 14 and from 65 to 79, and a family option for two adults and at least two young people. Under-5s ski free: ask at the ticket desk for the free pass in their name.

Bought online in advance, a day starts at €49, with the price varying from €49 to €61.20 over the period shown. For a week, the six-day adult Chamonix Le Pass costs €373 in high season, and €290.40 at the "Spring skiing" rate from 10 April 2027. The Compagnie du Mont-Blanc announces a rise of 3.56% on the previous winter.

How much does the Mont-Blanc Unlimited cost?

The official ticket office shows it from €75 when bought online, and an adult day in high season rises to €104 according to a specialist source. Between the two, only the online basket, for your date, is authoritative.

The season pass costs €1,746 in the offer running from 20 October to 30 November 2026. A private offer at €975 was reserved for eligible customers until 19 October. The announced rise for the Mont-Blanc Unlimited is 3.98%.

The calculation that often decides it: a day at the Aiguille du Midi costs up to €83 at the public rate. If you plan to go up during a ski holiday, the Mont-Blanc Unlimited can pay for itself; otherwise Chamonix Le Pass is enough. See Aiguille du Midi tickets.

Lift pass, accommodation, lessons: it is all decided before you leave. The tourist office advertises a discount on two to nine-day passes booked with accommodation. First compare places to stay in the valley for your dates.

Where should you buy your pass, and how can you pay less?

Online on the official ticket sites of Chamonix and Mont-Blanc Natural Resort, or at the lift ticket desks. The best prices are advertised online at least 3 days ahead of your first ski day: a last-minute purchase at the desk costs more.

The legitimate discounts, in order of how much they save:

  • Buying online in advance, with the lowest dynamic prices on quiet dates.
  • The period: before 19 December and from 10 April, the adult day drops from €76.50 to €61.20.
  • Child, senior and family rates, as long as you meet the age limits.
  • Booking with accommodation: 20% off two to nine-day passes, according to the tourist office's booking page. It is not available if you buy the pass on its own.
  • Autumn promotions, highlighted from 20 October to 30 November 2026.

No first-Sunday-of-the-month discount is published. The "from €49" price does not guarantee the price of a high-demand day: these are starting prices.

Does the lift pass give you free buses?

Illustration: Chamonix Skibus shuttle at a stop at the foot of the slopes, skiers in boots climbing aboard with their skis, packed snow on the pavement

Yes: the Chamonix Mobilité network is free for holders of a valid lift pass. It is what makes a car-free stay possible: the 9 Skibus lines serve the foot of the slopes throughout the valley.

Ask at the ticket desk whether your pass also covers the Mont-Blanc Express train and the evening buses. Keep your pass on you on the bus: it is the pass, not the guest card, that serves as a ticket. See getting around Chamonix.

For parking, the Forfait vallée gives parking allowances at the Grépon and three other car parks, detailed in parking in Chamonix.

What if the weather or an injury ruins the day?

Read the refund rules before buying: a ski area can stay open with reduced operations, and bad weather alone does not give an automatic right to a refund.

For an injury, find out before buying about the medical certificate required, the deadline for declaring it and the refund of unused days, or take out dedicated insurance. Keep the hands-free card, paid for separately: it can be reloaded from one stay to the next. The insurance points to check are listed in practical services in Chamonix.

Which lift pass traps should you avoid?

  • Taking the starting price for the price. €49 and €75 are "from" prices.
  • Buying late. The desk on the day costs more than buying online three days ahead.
  • An oversized Mont-Blanc Unlimited. Paying for Italy and Switzerland to ski only in Chamonix gains you nothing.
  • Forgetting Les Houches. It is not in Chamonix Le Pass.
  • Partial closures. A pass remains valid when a lift, a sector or an excursion closes because of wind.
  • Resellers. A named pass bought from a private individual may be unusable, already activated or non-refundable.

With a guide, the lift pass takes on another dimension: the Vallée Blanche, guided off-piste, ski lessons. Our partner's Chamonix page gathers the available outings, with required levels and cancellation terms shown.

When does the season start, and when does it end?

The general opening is announced from 12 December 2026 to 18 April 2027. Les Grands Montets open from 28 November 2026 and close on 2 May 2027, which explains why the Chamonix Le Pass price list runs to 2 May.

A specialist source gives the season as 19 December 2026 to 2 May 2027: it takes the start of the high-season prices. The details by ski area are in lift opening dates, and the end of the season in skiing in Chamonix in April.

The pass for a non-skier: pedestrian or Multipass?

Illustration: pedestrians in winter clothing leaving La Flégère gondola onto the snowy plateau, the Mont Blanc range opposite

A companion who does not ski does not need Chamonix Le Pass. Multi-day pedestrian passes start at €119 for two days, and the lifts sell single return trips, €25 at Le Brévent or La Flégère.

To go up and meet the skiers at Planpraz or La Flégère, the pedestrian return is enough. The sights to see without skiing are in things to do in Chamonix, Le Brévent and La Flégère. All our skiing guides are in the Skiing section.

The end of the season, when the lift pass is cheapest: from 10 to 17 April 2027, Chamonix Le Pass goes back to €61.20 for an adult day, and long days leave time to ski in the morning and enjoy the valley in the afternoon.
