The verdict

Lykke is the new name of the Mercure Chamonix Centre, as the hotel itself announces: a high-capacity four-star a few minutes from the station. If you are still searching for "Mercure Chamonix", this is it.

Its 4.3 from more than 1,900 Google reviews combines the old and new brands. The makeover as a "slow hotel" is best judged on recent reviews.

On site

A spa, a restaurant and rooms in forest and wood colours, some with a view of the massif. The name, Danish for happiness, sets the tone for a soft decor.

The station, the bus station and the pedestrian centre are on foot, which makes it a good base without a car.

Our advice

Choose it for a stay by train, with Montenvers and the station a few steps away.
