The verdict

Atmosphère takes its name from its setting: a veranda overlooking the Arve, with a glimpse of the Chamonix needles. The restaurant says it is listed in the Michelin Guide and the Gault&Millau.

Its Google rating of 4.5 from more than 1,100 reviews is remarkable for an address on the busiest square in town.

On the menu

Traditional cooking, regional specialities and game in season. The cellar holds several hundred wines, which the restaurant presents as some of the best value in Chamonix.

Our advice

Ask for a table on the veranda side when you book: it is what makes the evening. The entrance is at the top of a granite staircase, discreet from the square.
